Rhosonics’s range of products is especially suited for the chemicals industry. Applications for Rhosonics sensors are numerous, as the devices can be made of any material. Our sensors can determine, for example, liquid concentration, TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), or TSS (Total Suspended Solids). We can assist you when it comes to measuring the main process, clear liquids, turbid liquids and slurries. Select your particular industry or type of business from the menu to get suggestions for applications and solutions.

Acids and bases

Rhosonics has been providing ultrasonic chemical concentration measurement sensors for more than two decades. We have developed a large number of applications for measuring acids and bases for companies all over the world. This means that we have acquired an unmatched level of expertise in this industry. Whether you are interested in the measurement of sulphuric acid (H2S04) or hydrofluoric acid (HF), Rhosonics can provide online, insitu measuring systems. Other examples of liquids that we are often asked to measure include maleic acid, citric acid, HBR, silane, and boric acid.

Rhosonics has experience working with the following chemicals:

  1. H2S04/Oleum
  2. Boric acid
  3. Phosphoric acid
  4. Hydrochloric acid
  5. And many others

Salts and other chemicals

Ultrasonic technology enables measuring of additive salts and other chemicals in a liquid such as water. Salt concentration in water has an effect on the velocity with which sounds travels through the liquid. By measuring the velocity of sound, it is possible to measure even low concentrations accurately.

Some of our best known applications are listed below. These applications include chemicals such as alcohols (such as ethanol, methanol, and isopropyl alcohol):

  1. Hydrogen peroxide
  2. Potassium hydroxide
  3. Potassium carbonate
  4. ITO-etch
  5. Potash
  6. Sodium sulfate
  7. Sodium chloride
  8. Sodium hydroxide
  9. Ammonium fluoride
  10. Ammonium hydroxide
  11. And many others

Fine chemicals

Fine chemicals are produced in small volumes and tend to be used as base materials for specialty chemicals.

These fine chemicals are liquids designed for a special application, where sometimes regular chemicals are not well suited for the production process. In other cases, recipes for production processes are especially created for the customer and for that reason a company secret. Rhosonics offers programmes to measure these kinds of fine chemicals using ultrasonic technology to check different parameters, such as concentration, temperature, solids, and density of the liquid.

These liquids are used to change the surface tension between two liquids or between a liquid and a solid. They are key components in detergents, paints, adhesives, inks, and numerous of other applications and industries, including the paper industry. Since there are many types of surfactants, but most of them can be measured with ultrasonic sensors.

Please get in touch with us if you would like to measure these types of chemicals inline to achieve an optimum production process in your facility.
