SDM Successful in Colombia

In this year, 2019, our Colombian representative ‘Cloud Seven’ sold two non-nuclear SDM Slurry Density Meters to Gran Colombia Gold. The customer is very satisfied with the SDM’s in their Segovia Gold mine.

One SDM is installed with a wafer in the four inch pipe in the underflow of a thickener where there is a discharge of slurry. The slurry density is measured and controlled to pass to an agitator tank where it is conditioned. From here it is subsequently pumped to a filter press that eliminates a large percentage of water to deliver a compact paste for disposal.

The second SDM is installed with a wafer in an eight inch pipe at the inlet of the hydro cyclone. At this point, the slurry density between the ball mill and the hydro cyclones is measured.

The SDM in the left picture is installed in the underflow of a thickener. The SDM in the right picture is installed at the inlet of the hydro cyclone.

Gran Colombia is a Canadian-based gold producer with its primary focus in Colombia, where it is currently the largest underground gold and silver producer with several mines in operation at its Segovia and Marmato Operations. Gran Colombia Gold is building to become the leading Colombia focused gold producer. Gran Colombia can only succeed if the communities are changed in a positive way and share in that success. Their success leads to positive changes in health, safety and environment. With the purchase of the non-nuclear Slurry Density Meters, they show that they comply with these aspects.
