Taking a Bentonite slurry sample

Rhosonics visited a test site where tunneling slurry consisting of Bentonite was validated. The Rhosonics non-nuclear SDM Slurry Density Meter was installed at this test site.

In the video below, you can see how we took a sample of the Bentonite slurry. A sample can be used as a reference value or to calibrate the SDM for the first time in the slurry. The Bentonite slurry is a homogeneous mixture, which makes it easy to take a representative sample. For mixtures consisting of solids with larger particles sizes, there is more variation between samples because the mixture is less homogeneous.
